Despite the difficulties of the year 2020, WISE is expanding its global footprint. For the first time, WISE makes it to Chengdu as well, for a series of events. On September 4th, 2020 the WISE by day event will take place at Yitong Coffee + Records with a panel on the specifics of Chengdu’s club scene development over the last decade.

Later on, we will bring some of Chengdu’s & Shanghai’s finest techno acts together @ .TAG Club for the WISE by night event.

Push the Tempo: The Rise of Chengdu Club Culture

With a growing ecosystem of clubs, artists, DJs and promoters, Chengdu has become one of the most exciting and enviable cities for clubbing and electronic music in China.

What makes Chengdu so unique? We will hear from key local figureheads about their experiences pushing the scene over the past decade, as well as insights into post-lockdown reality and challenges going forward.

This panel discussion has a capacity of 20 people, and will also be livestreamed over on Chengdu Community Radio
